Some time ago, upon learning of the work of the Booker T. Washington Society, Artist Peter Ambush offered to paint a large portrait of Booker T. Washington - one that would do justice to the life and legacy of this great American. After researching his subject, Mr. Ambush settled on an approach that is reminiscent of the Old-World artist Rembrandt to create this dynamic portrayal.

The completed painting measures 30" x 40". We are grateful to Mr. Ambush for contributing his extensive talent to benefit the Society The Society hopes to find a permanent home in a suitable public venue so that people from all walks of life can learn more and be inspired by the life and legacy of this great American.
