What a Difference a Day Makes...
He promised change. OK. But how we respond to change makes all the difference. A healthy response to 'change' involves progressing from: emotion (feel)
Disregard for the moment the disruptive change that our current economy will bring this new year. Instead, consider the potential for change in racial attitudes with the advent of our nation's first black President. It is time to examine one's own private attitudes about race - toward ours and in relation to others. Clinging to attitudes mired in white guilt or black alientation/victimhood is both energy-sapping and counter-productive. Obama's success has proven it. In the eyes of our Lord, we are all equal and unique... members of one race human. Booker T. had it right. There is no color line... Now is the time.. "to cultivate a spirit that will make us forget there's a line anyway." We are not naive. Cultural and racial clashes wont disappear. But let our differences be solely of opinion. Yes, we can... affirm an indivisible America, striving as one to achieve a more perfect union with justice and liberty for all.
